Maine's Hidden Coast: Islands & Lighthouses

You'll experience the true beauty of Maine by venturing off the beaten path to explore working fishing villages and
visit one of the most spectacular lighthouses on the East Coast—one of three on our trip. Learn about real Maine
island living when we take a ferry to Monhegan Island—famous summer haven for artists—just 10 miles off the
coast. This island's majestic scenery has been the subject of many works by legendary artists, including Rockwell
Kent, Andrew Wyeth, and others.

We'll also visit Camden Harbor, known as the village "where the mountains meet the sea," with its harbor filled with lobster boats, yachts, and a fleet of grand old windjammers. Bike quiet island roads, hike through forests to magnificent ocean cliffs, and learn to kayak, spotting harbor seals and osprey and stay at some of Maine's finest Bed & Breakfasts. One night the adults dine leisurely, while the kids enjoy a barbeque at a nearby lighthouse. Explore Maine's hidden coast—the essence of Maine and the perfect coastal vacation for your family.
